Upon seeing the sign of Sate by the Bay have to inquire with some staff if it's open and the advice is that they open the whole day. Sate by the bay is about 20 minutes walk from the Flower Dome. After seeing food network and Asian Food Channel about Sate in Singapore I really have to try and compare it to our local BBQ. If you plan to try it around mid afternoon bring an umbrella since there's no cover going there.
While walking I notice this bike park on the side. 2 baby carriage attach to the bike. Maybe some of our motorcycle can get some idea with this.
The stall above was still not open during mid afternoon so maybe the happy hour of the sate by the Bay is in the evening, since only a few stall was open when we got there
Picture below is how they BBQ the chicken wings

Popiah |
Popiah is almost identical to our fresh lumpia buth they don't pour the sauce over the lumpia but instead inside thus making the color of the wrapper brown. Below is how it look likes
|
Kueh Pie Tee |
The Kueh Pie Tee has the same filling as the Popiah only the crust outside is fried using a mold then dip into a batter and then fried to a crisp. They added chops nut, a few chop hard boiled egg then the sauce. Same taste as the Popiah

chicken and beef sate |
My kids opt to try the sate beef and chicken. The beef was actually tender. The dipping sauce they said was not that spicy but for me is a bit spicy. Actually the most saleable items in that store is the shrim or prawn sate.
Some foreigner enjoying their Mediterrean meal. If you happen to try the place make sure not to left your meal unattended since there are many crow waiting to grab some of the food. Didn't take a picture of it. Not sure if the Singapore government don't care about the dirt made by the birds. Since my daughter place of residence has too many dove also and she has to close the window when it rains since they perch under the window when it rain and they do make such a noise.
Final verdit our BBQ meat is much longer and more tastier since most of our BBQ meat does not need a dipping sauce.
